Specialty child restraint seat belts manufacture certified to meet or exceed all current FMVSS209 and FMVSS302 seat belt safety regulations with most being manufactured or assembled in the USA. Some of the applications for this specialty seat belt include the securing of a booster seat or to secure a child on a school bus or shuttle van that is not equipped with factory installed seat belts.
In order to utilize this child restraint on a school bus or shuttle van both of the buckle sides need to be pre-mounted to each side of the seat or on to the floor on the side of the seat. To use, a parent, driver or the user would insert each end of the removable lap belt portion in to the pre-mounted buckle sides and then adjust to fit. In the event the seat belts would need to be removed during an emergency, both of the buckle sides have a top release push button which are easier to access and to release than standard side release push button buckles.
When installing a seat belt where it was not previously installed or if a factory underbody reinforcement plate is damaged or missing it is suggested that an RB1-1 (each) or RB1 (pair) underbody reinforcement plate with attached weld nut be used to add support to all of the mounting points.
Webbing colors tend to vary from mill run to mill run therefore a match to upholstery or carpet can not be guaranteed.
