Seat Belts:

1955-57 Chevrolet Retrofit Retractable Seat Belts

Retractable seat belt kits that have been designed to retrofit in to a 1955-57 Chevrolet post sedan or Nomad that are available with or without an attached shoulder harness strap and with either a 1950's style chrome lift lid or with a late model style plastic pushbutton buckle.

 The retrofit kits listed include the retractable two front seat belts and the required lower,underbody and/or shoulder harness reinforcement plates,L-brackets,mounting bolts and detailed installation instructions.

The retractor used on the retractable lap belts is a self locking design which locks in place once pulled to the desired position. The retractor used on the retractable lap belt with the attached shoulder harness is web sensitive which allows for movement within the vehicle but will lock automatically based on a pre-designed tension. Both retractors utilized are a compact design that require only 3" of clearance which allows easy access to the rear seats.

Matching non-retractable lap belts are also listed in both buckle styles for use on the front center position in a bench seat vehicle and for use in all the rear seat positions.

    Lift Lid Buckle Retrofit Kits

    Specifications/Information
  • The plastic pieces are black regardless of the webbing color.
  • The inner buckle end included with the bench seat kits is non-sleeved to allow it to slide between the seat back and bottom gap.
  • The inner buckle end included with the bucket seat kits has a rigid sleeve to maintain its upright position for easy access.
  • The buckle is on the outer adjustable side of the matching non-retractable lap belts.
  • Retrofit mounting kits including required lower,underbody and/or harness reinforecments,L-brackets and mounting bolts are included with the kits.
  • Standard mounting bolts or a retrofit mounting kit including reinforcements are available for the matching rear seat belts.
