When installing a seat belt where it was not previously installed it is suggested that an RB1-1(each) or RB1(pair) underbody or RB3 shoulder harness reinforcement plate with attached weld nut be used to add support to all of the mounting points.Webbing colors tend to vary from mill run to mill run therefore a match to upholstery or carpet can not be guaranteed.If a match to an existing interior is required it is suggested that a webbing sample be ordered.
Retrofit retractable front seat lap belt with shoulder harness kits are available for bucket or bench seats. The buckle designs available are a vintage chrome lift lid, a standard pushbutton or a deluxe all metal pushbutton. These retrofit kits have been designed to install in to most 1955-57 Chevrolet models except for convertibles,sports coupe and sedans and include the driver and passengers seat belts,required reinforcing plates,washers and installtion instructions. In order to install a retrofit kit welding to the b-pillar and the drilling of the floor pan is required.
The retractor used is a modern type with web sensitivity that allows for movement but will lock automatically based on pre-designed tension. The mounting hardware that is supplied with the retrofit kits is based on the vehicle not previously having seat belts installed and the vehicle does not currently have underbody reinforcing plates. Call for availablity on kits without retrofit mounting hardware.
Matching non-retractable lap seat belts are available to be used on a bench seat front center position or for use in all of the rear seat positions in all of the buckle styles.
