1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevrolet non retractable seat belts with the original aviator style buckle with a spring hinged satin aluminum lift up release lid with metal to metal contact and a bright chrome buckle underside. All of the seat belts and related hardware listed are new and manufactured to meet or exceed FMVSS (U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) 209,302 and SAE 386 with most manufactured or assembled in the USA.
The webbing is original appearance style with 4 equal rows. The anchor ends are bright chrome and bolt directly to the floor. An anchor end cover that snaps on to the mounting bolt head to cover both the bolt and the anchor end that can be painted to match the interior are available for a finished look.
Originally 1955-57 Chevrolet seat belt webbing was available in a limited number of colors and was matched to the carpet. In addition to webbing colors matched to the carpet, to offer a greater selection of colors seat belts have been listed with webbing colors that are matched to most of the colors in the original multi-color interiors.
Note: When installing a seat belt where it was not previously installed it is suggested that a retrofit mounting kit be used which include underbody reinforcement plates to add support to the mounting points. If an original underbody reinforcement plate is damaged or missing a RB1-1 or RB1 replacement underbody reinforcement plate with attached weld nut can be used. A standard mounting kit or underbody reinforcement plates are not required when ordering a retrofit mounting kit.
Webbing colors tend to vary from mill run to mill run therefore a match to upholstery or carpet can not be guaranteed.
