1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevrolet non retractable seat belts with an vintage style buckle with a spring hinged satin aluminum lift up release lid with metal to metal contact and a bright chrome buckle underside.The webbing is current manufacture 7 panel design. The end fittings are bright chrome fixed and bolt directly to the floor. An end fitting cover which snaps on to the mounting bolt head to cover both the bolt and the end fitting which is paintable to match the interior is available for a finished look.
All of the seat belts and related hardware listed are new and manufactured to meet or exceed FMVSS (U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) 209 and 302 with all of the seat belts manufactured or assembled in the USA.
Originally 1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevrolet seat belt webbing was available in a limited number of colors and was matched to the carpet. In addition to webbing colors that have been matched to the carpet color in order to offer a greater selection of colors seat belts are listed with webbing colors that are matched to most of the colors that were used in original multi color interiors. Webbing colors are not guaranteed to match an existing seat belt, upholstery or a carpet color. When a match is critical it is suggested that a webbing sample be ordered.
Note: When installing a seat belt where it was not previously installed it is suggested that a 203K retrofit mounting kit be used which include underbody reinforcement plates to add support to the mounting points. If an original underbody reinforcement plate is damaged or missing order one RB1-1 replacement underbody reinforcement plate with attached weld nut and MH8-2 bolt kit per plate. MH4 standard mounting kit, MH8-2 bolt kit or RB1-1 underbody reinforcement plates are not required when ordering a 203K retrofit mounting kit.
