When installing a seat belt where it was not previously installed or if the factory underbody reinforcement plates are damaged or missing it is suggested that an RB1 underbody reinforcement plate with attached weld nut be used to add support to all of the mounting points.
Webbing colors tend to vary from mill run to mill run therefore a match to upholstery or carpet can not be guaranteed.
The seat belts listed have been designed to be similar in appearance to the original seat belts that were dealer installed in Cadillacs from 1953 to 1962 and factory installed from 1963 to 1967. Most of the pre-1967 seat belts had an aviator type bright chrome lift lid buckle with a bright chrome underside. The floor mounting anchor ends were bright chrome and the webbing had 4 equal rows.After 1963 7/16th mounting bolts were used to bolt the anchor ends thru the floor pan in to a underbody reinforcement plate that was welded to the under side of vehicle.
Prior to seat belts being factory installed the webbing color choices were limited to gray and black. When seat belts became factory installed the webbing color selection was expanded but still was not available in colors to match most of the carpet colors or the different colors or shades used in the multi-colored interiors. The seat belts listed included additional webbing colors that were not originally offered to allow for color matching to most original or reproduction interior or carpet colors.
The buckle that is on the seat belts listed is the aviator type with a lift lid release and a spring hinged metal to metal contact closing devise. The webbing meets all current safety codes and has the original 4 row design. The fixed floor mounting anchor ends are bright chrome. In addition to a bright chrome lift lid aviator buckle an aviator lift lid buckle with a dull satin finish lid is also available for a more deluxe appearance.The front seat belts measure approximately 74" long end to end and the rear seat belts measure approximately 60" long end to end.
