Seat Belts For:

1953-67 Cadillacs

The seat belts listed within this section are based on the seat belts that used in Cadillacs from 1953 to approximately 1967 that utilized a buckle design referred to as an aviator or aircraft design which had a lift lid with a spring hinged metal to metal contact closing devise.The most commonly used buckle lid in Cadillac products had a of bright chrome lid and a chrome underside and was anchored to the floor with bright chrome fixed anchor ends that after 1962 bolted thru the body in to a underbody reinforcement plate that was either welded or riveted to the under side of vehicle.

Prior to seat belts being factory installed color choice options are believed to have been limited to gray,red,black and blue.When seat belts became factory installed,the webbing color selection was expanded but still was not available in a complete interior selection matching all carpet colors or the different colors or shades used in the multi-colored interiors.The seat belts offered within this section include many additional colors,not originally offered,that allow the choice to match most available original or reproduction interior or carpet colors.Also listed are aviator style belts with the top of the buckle lid being a dull satin finish rather than bright chrome for those who prefer a more deluxe look.

When installing seat belts where they were not previously installed it is suggested that a WSRB1 underbody reinforcement plate with attached weld nut be used for additional support to mounting points.The cost per pair of WSRB1 is $25.00.

To add retractability, a WSCR1 plastic or WS80296 original style metal clip on webbing retractors are available.The cost per WSCR1 is $9.50ea and the WS80296 are $20.00ea.
