1972-73 Corvette Seat Belts

1972 and 1973 Chevrolet Corvette replacement non retractable lap seat belts and retractable lap seat belts with or with out a shoulder harness that are available with a standard push button and an all metal OEM style push button buckle.The lap seat belt retractors are automatic locking (ALR) which lock in place when pulled to position and released. The shoulder harness retractors are web sensitive emergency locking (ELR) which allow for some movement once attached to the lap seat belt and will lock on sudden movement or pre-designed tension.

All of the seat belts and related hardware listed are new and manufactured to meet or exceed FMVSS (U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) 209,302 and SAE 386 with most manufactured or assembled in the USA..

Also available are 1972 and 1973 retrofit kits that include an attached combination retractable lap seat belt with shoulder harness and include mounting hardware and installation instructions. Contact us for additional information.


1972 and 1973 Corvette replacement non retractable lap seat belts sized to fit a Corvette.These are not a universal fit seat belt where the inner buckle side is to long making it difficult to tighten. The adjustable latch side of these Corvette replacement seat belts when fully extended measures approximately 53" long and will adjust down to 5" long. The inner buckle side measures approximately 9" long with the webbing covered with a hard plastic sleeve like the original configuration.

  • *Prior to the part number indicates all the plastic pieces are color matched to the webbing color.Unless indicated all plastic pieces are black.
  • Does not include a provision to add a shoulder harness.

    Mounting Hardware Information;
  • If a factory underbody reinforcing plate is damaged or missing order one 201K retrofit mounting kit which includes universal underbody reinforcing plates and mounting bolts per lap seat belt.
  • When re-using the factory underbody reinforcing plates order one 8239 bolt kit per two lap seat belts.

  • The lap seat belts are not compatible with a original Corvette shoulder harness.
  • The add-on shoulder harness is not compatible with an original Corvette lap seat belt.
  • Mounts in the original factory configuration and uses the factory mounting points.
  • The inner buckle side is 9" long with the webbing covered with a color matched hard plastic sleeve.
  • When not re-using an original shoulder harness web stop boot which was installed after the shoulder harness end was feed thru the seat back, a black paint to match interior, web stop boot is available.
  • The paintable chart boot/webbing stop that is located behind the retractable latch chrome end is black regardless of the webbing color.
  • Does not include the electrical connection for a seat belt dash warning lamp.

    Mounting Hardware Information
  • When a factory lap seat belt underbody reinforcing plate is damaged or missing order one 201K-2 retrofit mounting kit which includes universal underbody reinforcing plates and mounting bolts per lap seat belt car set.
  • When re-using the factory lap seat belt underbody reinforcing plates order one 8239 bolt kit per lap seat belt car set or one 8223 bolt kit per lap seat belt with shoulder harness car set.
  • When a factory shoulder harness underbody reinforcing plate is damaged or missing order one RB4 universal reinforcing plate and one MH1-1 bolt per shoulder harness.

    8128 Shoulder Harness Information
  • Has the provision to attach to the stud on an original 1972 and 1973 Corvette retractable latch end.
  • Can be used to add the optional shoulder harness(A85 option) to a original Corvette seat belt.
  • Can be used to replace a damaged original 1972 and 1973 Corvette shoulder harness.
  • When not re-using an original web stop boot which was installed after the shoulder harness end was feed thru the seat back, a black paint to match the interior, web stop boot is available.

    8002 Retractable Latch End Information
  • Includes a color matched web stop boot.
  • Does not include the electrical connection for the seat belt dash warning lamp.
  • Can be used to replace a missing or damaged factory original.

    Mounting Hardware Information
  • The mounting hardware listed is replacement style and to be used with factory underbody reinforcement plates only.
  • A car set mounting kit will install the drivers and passenger side seat belts.

    Misc Information
  • Retractors listed as bare can be used as a replacement if an original Corvette retractor is damaged and the original webbing is being re-used. A small amount of webbing is on the retractor to maintain the tension. The webbing, web stop boot and latch end chrome are not included. Sold not returnable.
  • The original GM buckle side is available with or without the webbing cover sleeve.
