1968-72 Chevelle/El Camino Seat Belts


When installing a seat belt where it was not previously installed or if factory underbody and/or shoulder harness reinforcement plates are damaged or missing it is suggested that a RB1-1(each) or RB1(pair) underbody and/or RB3 shoulder harness reinforcement plate with attached weld nut be used to add support to all of the mounting points.Webbing colors tend to vary from mill run to mill run therefore a match to upholstery or carpet can not be guaranteed.

The seat belts styles listed include;
  • Standard pushbutton buckle non-retractable lap seat belts.
  • Deluxe metal pushbutton buckle non-retractable lap seat belts.
  • Retractable front seat lap belts with shoulder harness kits with standard pushbutton buckle.
  • Retractable front seat lap belts with shoulder harness kits with deluxe metal pushbutton buckle.
  • Rear seat retrofit retractable lap seat belt with shoulder harness kits with standard pushbutton buckle.
  • Rear seat retrofit retractable lap seat belt with shoulder harness kits with deluxe metal pushbutton buckle.

    Front Seat Kits are avaialble to replace a damaged or missing original factory installed front retractable lap seat belt with an independant shoulder harness with a combined retractable lap seat belt with shoulder harness or upgrade from a non-retractable lap seat belt to a combined retractable lap seat belt with attached shoulder harness in a Chevelle coupe or an El Camino.The shoulder harness mounting bracket in the kits are available with a 2 1/2" or 8 1/2" extension.The length of the extension selected will determine the height that the webbing coming from the shoulder harness mounting point will come across the shoulder.These Chevelle and El Camino replacement seat belt kits are available for bucket or bench seats and include the drivers and passengers side front seat belts,installation instructions and mounting hardware.

    The shoulder harness mounting bracket included in all of the front kits bolts to the body using one of the original two factory bolt holes.To utilize both of the original bolt holes order 2 RB12 retrofit brackets per kit that will convert the 2 original mounting holes to a single attachment point. The bolts that attach the retrofit bracket to the body are not included with the hardware kit.

    Rear Seat Retrofit Kits are available to add a retractable lap seat belt with shoulder harness to the rear of a Chevelle coupe. The mounting hardware that is included with the rear retrofit kits is based on using the existing reinforced factory rear lap seat belt floor mounting points.

    The rear seat retrofit retractable kits and the matching front and rear non-retractable lap seat belts are listed under the column of the buckle style selected for the front seat belt kits.

    Specifications;
  • Each kit includes the retractable lap and shoulder harness belts and mounting hardware for two positions/persons.
  • Installation instruction are included with the front and the rear retrofit kits.
  • The retractors are (ELR) web sensitive emergency locking type that allows for some movement and will lock automatically.
  • Matching 60" long non-retractable lap seat belts are listed to be used in all of the rear seat positions.
  • Matching 74" long non-retractable seat belts are listed to be used in the front bench center seat or all rear seat positions.
  • *Indicates that all the plastic pieces are color matched to the webbing.Unless indicated all the plastic pieces are black.
