1968-72 Chevelle/El Camino Seat Belts


1968, 1969, 1970, 1971 and 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle and 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971 and 1972 Chevrolet El Camino retractable front seat belts with shoulder harness for bucket or bench seats plus 1968-72 Chevelle coupe rear seat retrofit kits to add a retractable lap seat belt with shoulder harness where not previously installed with webbing colors to match most original interior colors. All of the seat belts and related hardware are new and manufactured to meet or exceed FMVSS (U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) 209,302 and SAE 386 with most manufactured or assembled in the USA..

The 1968-72 Chevelle and 1968-72 El Camino front seat retractable kits include the seat belts and mounting hardware for the driver and passenger. The 1968-72 Chevelle coupe rear seat retrofit kits include the seat belts,mounting hardware and installation instructions for two persons.

The buckles choices available include a standard pushbutton and a deluxe OEM style all metal push button with a starburst design on the pushbutton. The retractors are (ELR) web sensitive emergency locking type which allows for some movement but will lock automatically based on a pre-determined tension.

Note: If a factory installed underbody or shoulder harness reinforcement plate is damaged or missing it is suggested that RB1 or a RB1-1 underbody and or RB3 shoulder harness reinforcement plates with attached weld nut be used to add support to the mounting location.

Webbing colors tend to vary from mill run to mill run therefore a match to upholstery or carpet can not be guaranteed.


Front Seat Kits: Replace a damaged or missing original factory installed retractable lap seat belt that had an independant shoulder harness with a combination retractable lap seat belt with shoulder harness. The front seat belt kits can also be used to upgrade from a non-retractable or retractable lap only seat belt. The shoulder harness door post extension(DPE) offset options are a standard 2 1/2" or a 8 1/2". The length of the door post extension(DPE) is customer preference and will determine the height that the webbing comes across the shoulder.

The shoulder harness door post extension(DPE) requires the use of only one of the two factory original mounting holes. In order to utilize both of the factory mounting holes order a RB12-2 retrofit adapter bracket set to convert the 2 factory original mounting holes to a single attachment point. The bolts that attach the RB12 retrofit adapter bracket to the body are not included.

Rear Seat Retrofit Kits: Add a retractable lap seat belt with shoulder harness in the rear of a 1968-72 Chevelle coupe where not previously installed using the package/deck lid as the mounting location for the retractors. The use of the original factory installed lap seat belt underbody reinforcing plates is required. In the event that the factory underbody reinforcing plates are damaged or missing RB1-1 or RB1 underbody reinforcing plates can be used as replacements.
