1953-67 Corvette Seat Belts

When installing a seat belt where it was not previously installed or if the factory underbody reinforcement plates are damaged or missing it is suggested that a RB1-1(each) or RB1(pair) replacement underbody reinforcement plate with attached weld nut be used to add support to all of the mounting points.Webbing colors tend to vary from mill run to mill run therefore a match to upholstery or carpet can not be guaranteed.If a match to an existing interior color is required it is suggested that a webbing sample be ordered.



1953-63 Original Style Non-Retractable Lap Seat Belt Specifications-W8205 And W8733 Series
  • Designed to be similar in appearance to the original seat belts that were manufactured by Irvin Air Chute.
  • The 1953-62 (W8205 series) buckle is a lift lid aviator type with a spring hinged polished aluminum lid with metal to metal contact.
  • The 1963 (W8733 series) buckle is a lift lid aviator type with a spring hinged bright chrome lid with metal to metal contact.
  • The latch D-ring is bright chrome with a a rectangular cut-out.
  • The end fittings are bright chrome and fixed bolting directly to the floor.
  • The webbing length adjustment is on the buckle end side.
  • The webbing is the original style 4 bar design.
  • The thread color used matches the color of the webbing.


    1953-67 Vintage And Vintage Deluxe Non-Retractable Lap Seat Belts Specifications-W8237 And 8274-60 Series
  • The vintage buckle is a lift up release with a chrome lid and a chrome underside and base.
  • The deluxe vintage buckle is a lift up release with a powder coated lid and lid underside and a bright chrome base.
  • The end fittings are fixed and bolt directly to the floor.
  • The webbing length adjustment is on the buckle end side.



    1953-67 Pushbutton Non-Retractable Lap Seat Belt Specifications-W8202 And W8207-60 Series
    The Choice of buckles are;
    .....a standard pushbutton (W8202 series) with a red button background with a white "PRESS".
    .....a upgrade pushbutton with a black button background with a white "PRESS".Specify or select #108 buckle upgrade when ordering.
    .....a deluxe (W8207 series) all metal pushbutton buckle.
  • The end fittings are a gold chromate color and bolt directly to the floor.
  • The webbing length adjustment is on the latch end side.
  • *Indicates that the plastic pieces are color matched to the webbing color.Unless indicated the plastic pieces are black.

    Mounting Hardware And Related Items


  • One MH2B or MH4 mounting kit is required per lap belt if not using RRB-1 or RB1 or factory underbody reinforcing plates.
  • When using RB1-1 or RB1 reinforcing plates mounting kits are not required. Order one MH7 bolt per reinforcing plate.
  • If using factory underbody reinforcing plates order one 8212 or 8225 original style mounting kit is required to install two belts.
  • Car set mounting kits do driver and passenger side seat belts.
